AREAS TO VISIT
Most of you will already know of the popular areas and unmissable destinations, such as Disney World, Universal, Kennedy Space Centre and beaches etc. However, below are just a few of our personal favorites which are not normally listed as part of the attractions but are definitely worth a visit!
Celebration
Celebration is a pristine Disney residential area set out in a small-town style with beautiful townhouses and large villas. It has a small shopping area (Market Street) with boutique shops and many lovely restaurants. Every Sunday the town hosts a Farmers Market between 8am and 1pm where you can purchase gorgeous artisan bread, herbs & spices, fresh fruit & veg and much more! Why not stroll around the lake or sit on the rocking chairs under parasols to relax on a sunny afternoon?
Historic Bok Tower
This is a beautiful 250-acre landscaped garden and bird sanctuary, centered around the 205-ft tall Singing Tower. Moonlight classical concerts take place around once a quarter where families can take a picnic and sit around the lake enjoying the music, food and amazing ambience.
Winter Park
Winter Park is an upscale community with excellent shopping opportunities. Boutique shops sell a variety of items including beautiful linens and home furnishings, pet wear, clothing and gifts. It has also become known as a hub for fantastic food! The restaurants are mostly independent and feature everything from relaxed pizza restaurants, to bottomless brunches to spectacular fine dining!
Old Town
Old Town is located on US192 in Kissimmee, just look for the Ferris Wheel! Old Town is an old-time carnivalesque shopping, dining and entertainment attraction for all of the family. Friday and Saturday nights are host to Classic Car Cruises, fun for everyone!
Mount Dora
Mount Dora is north up Hwy 27, close to Tavares, and is a small, quintessentially American village set on a slope. No fast food restaurants here! There are small boutique style shops and a vast array of cuisine choices; Cuban, Italian, French, German to name but a few! There is also a steam train that runs along the bottom of the hill and the option of scenic boat tour.
